Home to School Transport
A2B Contract Cars specialise in home to school transport and adult social care transport. We provide our service to a large number of mainstream and special educational need establishments throughout Essex, Hertfordshire and Greater London. With a large fleet of specialised vehicles and fully trained drivers and passenger assistants, we are equipped to deliver a first-class service.
Specialist Vehicles
We have a fleet of over 70 vehicles, all of which are fully compliant for the provision of home to school transport. These vehicles range from 4-seater saloons to 8-seater MPVs. We also have various wheelchair accessible vehicles with electric tail lifts and factory fitted wheelchair restraints.
Fully Accredited Workforce
Our staff undergo an in-depth training course, which is provided by our in-house training team. This unique and comprehensive training program covers everything from first aid to code of practice, and is designed to develop the most proficient Drivers and Passenger Assistants.
Dedicated Support Team
A team of friendly and approachable support staff that are dedicated to ensuring a smooth, positive transport experience. With excellent communication and a full understanding of the individual needs of service users, the A2B Support Team are the go-between for parent, school and council.

About Us
Our History
Philip Hudson started in the taxi industry in the Northeast of England back in 1990. Philip moved to Epping in 1994, and later founded Phil's Car Service in 2000. In 2006, Philip acquired Lawlor Car Service and secured his first school contract for Essex County Council - and from there, A2B Contract Cars was born. Matthew Flowers worked in the financial industry and joined Philip on his Home to School transport vision. Together they have grown the business to where it is today.

The level of service we provide is unrivalled, and this is down to our staff both in the office and in the field. We have over 100 employees, who all share the same passion and dedication to transporting our service users and ensuring their safety and wellbeing with their experience.

Day Centre Transport
A2B Contract Cars provide transport to and from various day centres throughout Essex and Hertfordshire. Our vehicles are fitted with tail-lifts to accommodate wheelchair users, and we can utilise a passenger assistant if required.

PATS Training
The Passenger Assistant Training Scheme (PATS) provides a nationally recognised standard of training to anyone who has care or supervision of passengers travelling by road. Provided by our highly skilled and qualified trainer, the training consists of 5 modules that cover the role of the passenger assistant and working with passengers with disabilities, wheelchair users, children, young adults and the elderly.

We primarily work in partnership with Essex County Council and Hertfordshire County Council. We also operate school contracts on behalf of Thurrock Council, Havering Council and Barking & Dagenham Council.

Drivers
Transporting and supporting our service users from A to B - the role of a Driver is more than just driving. Working either independently or with a Passenger Assistant, you will transport the users to and from their school or day centre. Friendly and approachable, the Driver will be supportive to the users and assure their safety on transport. Drivers will undergo numerous courses to certify them as a home to school transporter.
Passenger Assistant
Enjoyable and rewarding, the role of a Passenger Assistant is perfect for a caring and understanding individual. You will travel with the service user on their journey to and from their school or day center. Helping to support with their individual needs and requirements, the passenger assistant will ensure the safety and wellbeing of the user throughout their transport with A2B. Full training will be provided by our in-house trainer, which will ensure you are fully prepared for the role.

Work-Life Balance
Performing morning and afternoon transport for each service user, our Drivers and Passenger Assistants retain a few hours in the late morning and early afternoon to enjoy their free time, and later return to fulfil their afternoon journey.
All Expenses Covered
We cover all costs in setting you up as either a Driver or PA. To become a Driver for home to school transport, you will be required to pass both a Green Penny and Blue Lamp course, as well as passing a DBS and medical check.
Supportive Team
At A2B, you are part of a team of over 100 Drivers and PAs, who were all in the same position at the start of their A2B journey. Furthermore, our Office Support Team are always on-hand to help with any queries you may have.
In-House Training
Full training for the position will be provided by our in-house training team. You will undertake both theory-based and practical sessions to ensure you understand the responsibilities of the job and are prepared for your first day.
Term Time Schedule
We provide transport in line with the school term date calendar, and you therefore only work on school days. We pro-rata so you know your exact monthly wage and to ensure you are paid equally over the year.
